Yes, to protect your property. Cameras must face your own space, not public roads or neighbouring homes. We help you position them correctly from installation.
Do I need a video surveillance sign?
It depends on what the cameras record. If they capture areas used by other people, such as visitors, workers or delivery drivers, you must display a visible surveillance sign. We explain whether it is needed and what it must say in your case.
What should I do if someone occupies my home?
Stay calm: do not enter the property or try to remove anyone yourself. Call 112 as soon as possible. The footage is already saved on your equipment with its date and time, ready for the police or court.
Where are recordings stored?
On equipment installed at your property. Footage is not uploaded to a third-party cloud, and you decide who can view it.
Is there a control centre watching my cameras?
No. Caritas alerts you directly on your phone; there is no alarm receiving centre or automatic police notification. You decide what to do and call 112 if needed.
How long are recordings kept?
Recording is continuous, 24 hours a day, and can be reviewed on a timeline. The retention period, up to 90 days, is adjusted to what the rules allow in your case.
